Hobart-RPI to meet in semifinal showdown on Cozzens Field


• Hobart (10-5-2) captured the Liberty League regular season championship, earning the top-seed in the tournament and a bye to the semifinals.
• The No. 5 seed, RPI advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 triumph at No. 4 St. Lawrence in Tuesday's first round. Brady Van Epps scored in the eighth minute and Colin Such recorded six saves to earn the shutout.

HWS wins Navy Team Race to begin spring slate


• In Annapolis, Maryland, HWS finished the weekend with a 12-3 overall record in first place.
• On Saturday, sailors were met with heavy rain and an early morning breeze out of the east at 12 knots, which would shift throughout the day into a north westerly wind of eight knots. Two and a half round robins were completed in the rainy conditions.

With the XFL season underway, a face familiar to the HWS community can be seen on the sideline in Seattle. After two seasons with the Statesmen, assistant football coachrecently joined the Seattle Sea Dragons, where he is serving as the team's linebackers coach, the youngest member of the Seattle staff.In his time in Geneva, Fleischacker shared the defensive coordinator position with Michael Green in 2021 and coached the outside linebackers in 2022. The Liberty League recognized 28 Hobart and William Smith student-athletes as members of the 2023-2024 winter All-Academic Teams. Hobart Lacrosse heads to UAlbany for 1st meeting


• Hobart (2-3) is coming off a 15-10 win over Robert Morris on March 2.
• The Statesmen have excelled in faceoff percentage and man-down defense this season. Hobart is third in the nation at the X, winning 65% of the time. The Statesmen are 12th in the nation when short-handed, killing off 76.2% of their opponents' extra-man opportunities. The Colonials were 0-for-6 against Hobart's defense last Saturday.

Swimming and Diving concludes season at Liberty League Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Hobart and William Smith swimming and diving teams competed in the fourth and final day of the Liberty League Championships on Saturday in the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium. Saturday's events were highlighted by five individual performances and three relay teams from the Statesmen and Herons. The Statesmen finished in eighth place with 240 points, while the Herons finished in ninth with 296 points.

• Hobart enters the weekend with an 8-3 record in its first varsity season.
• Hobart's attack has been putting pressure on opponents all season, as the offense posts 12.77 kills per set, fifth in the nation.

HWS 8th at Admiral's Cup


• On Saturday sailors began the regatta with southerly breeze of 10 knots that shifted throughout the day. With temperatures in the mid-50's, nine races were completed in each division before the competition had to be called at 4:00 p.m.
• Sunday brought ideal conditions for anything but sailing, as the beautiful weather brought everything except the wind needed for races. All races were postponed as competitors waited out in hope for a breeze to pick up, but by 12:30 p.m. all races were abando

• Saturday began with an early postponement due too a lack of wind, but by the afternoon the conditions were good, and the races went smoothly. After Day 1 six races had been contested in each division.
• Sunday brought much more consistent conditions that allowed for a full day of racing. Nine more races were contested in each Division.
• HWS finished with 242 points. In B Division, HWS was fifth with 101 points. The A Division crew was 11th with 141 points.

• On Saturday morning sailors were met with testy conditions with gusts of winds blowing through over 30 knots from the NW. Only 16 races could be completed in the wild weather.
• Sunday provided ideal weather for racing. A southerly breeze that reached highs of 15 knots allowed for tight competition across the board.

• Saturday morning began with heavy gusts of wind, keeping sailors off the water briefly. Races began once gusts dropped below 30 knots, and 43 races were sailed.
• Sunday brought light winds, allowing for the second round robin to be completed but a thrid round got cut short due to the wind becoming unstable.
• HWS went 4-10 on the weekend, positing wins over Fordham (twice), Cornell, and Penn.

William Smith 6th at MAISA Women’s Championship


• Senior and first-year represented the Herons in A Division. They finished sixth with 66 points. Kerns and Kim put together a strong Sunday, finishing in the top three four times. Kerns and Kim won the final race. They were second twice on Sunday.
• Junior and first-year sailed in B Division. They tied for seventh in B Division with Christopher Newport with 70 points. They crossed the line in the top 10 in eight races. Starck and Donaldson were third in the 10th race.

Sailing competes in two regattas


• In St. Mary's City races kicked off as scheduled, but while the first boats were on the water swirling winds picked up and the races were quickly abandoned. The weather was miserable on Saturday, but it led to good racing with 54 races being contested. On Sunday, it was windy cold and shifty, making for fun team racing. A double round robin and final four was contested on the weekend.

• In St. Mary's City, HWS finished the weekend with a 5-11 overall record, earning a seventh place finish.
• On Saturday, sailors were met with wet but good racing conditions, with an easterly wind blowing through.
• Sunday brought sunny, dry, and ideal racing conditions, allowing the second-round robin to be completed. By the end of the day, a strong breeze came through, with winds over 20 knots pushing from the northwest.

• With only nine teams competeing the regatta was sailed in a combined A and B Division. Twelve races were contested in each division.
• The HWS sailing team defended its home turf, finishing the weekend with 78 points. Pennsylvania was second 56 points behind.
• In the combined Divisions, the Colleges finished first and second overall.
• HWS's A Division boat controlled the regatta, finishing with 27 points. The boat was skippered by Senior , with first-year's and and junior competing as crew.

Football Welcomes Keystone for “Purple Out” Game


• This matchup will be Hobart Football's Spirit game, sponsored by HWS Student Engagement, which includes giveaways and TheoPetros, a Greek food truck. Free for students/faculty/staff with a valid OneCard, TheoPatros will be serving from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. or until they run out.

Herons to compete at USCSA National Championships

The William Smith College Alpine skiing team is in Mammoth Lakes, California, to compete in the USCSA National Championships on Mammoth Mountain. • Saturday's racing was contested in a west-northwesterly breeze ranging from 10-18 knots with gusts up to 30 knots. On Sunday breezes ranged between 12 and 20 knots.

• Kerns and Starck finished the singlehanded conference championship in 8th and 9th place respectively.
• Fourteen races were contested on the weekend.

Hobart Squash honored with Barnaby Award

After wrapping up its season in Hartford, Connecticut, the Hobart College squash team was awarded the College Squash Association's (CSA) Barnaby Award for the most improved men's team. The award was voted on by the CSA's men's coaches and recognized the Statesmen for showing the most improvement in the national rankings from the previous year.
